Design Example:
Embedded Controllers for Industrial Systems using VME and other Dedicated
Controllers
TKG demonstrated our capability in the Electronic Systems Design area in a
recent industrial system design contract:
 | The project began with a thorough analysis of the System Requirements and
Project Goals. Preliminary paper studies were conducted to determine the
feasibility of various approaches to the design. The results of the studies
were presented in Design Reviews and the "Best Fit" approach was
selected. |
| Working with the Client's Electrical and Software Design Staff Members, we
chose the components and implemented the Electrical and Electronic Systems
using a VME Embedded Controller, Robot Controllers, Temperature Controllers
and numerous Actuators, Position Sensors, Pressure Sensors, and Temperature
Sensors. In addition to selecting the components, we directed and worked
with outside vendors to assure the project was completed on time. |
| Working with the Client's Mechanical Design Staff Members, we also
assisted with the design in the areas of Manufacturability, Cooling,
Exhausting, Electromagnetic Compatibility and Regulatory Compliance. |
| During the project, we located and directed external contractors to
develop project documentation and prototypes. |
| We provided Failure Analysis and Corrective Action assistance during Debug
and Testing of the Prototype Unit. |
| We also Flow Charted the system for the Client which greatly assisted the
Software implementation. |
